This popular product is a neutral-colored blended paste that cleans, conditions, preserves, and weatherproofs all smooth oil-tanned leather to keep it supple, strong, and beautiful. This specially formulated blend of waxes and USP Grade Petroleum products help repel dirt and water from entering the leather where they cause the greatest damage. The oils in the leather dressing lubricate and plump up the fibers, allowing them to move smoothly against each other without binding and abrading.

Our products contain NO animal fat or tallow, mink oil, lanolin, or neatsfoot oil. May darken leather a shade but not significantly. Not recommended for Suede or NuBuck leather (use our NuBuck and Suede Spray instead).

LEATHER DRESSING APPLICATION:

Using a clean, soft cloth or your fingers, apply the dressing in light coats. Allow 12 to 24 hours for the dressing to be absorbed into the leather. Apply additional treatments in the same manner until a thin layer of dressing remains on the surface. Each treatment allows fibers in the leather to become stronger, softer, and more flexible. Due to the density of the dressing, leather cannot over-absorb the conditioner.

Remove any excess dressing with a dry, soft cloth and gently buff the surface to a soft sheen. Buffing leather melts the blend of waxes so they will repel water and dust. Perform follow-up treatments two to four times per year or as needed to maintain proper protection of the leather.

I have used PECARD Leather Dressing for over 45 years. It does the Job. It keeps my feet in the dry while keeping my shoes looking like new. It is easy to apply, does not have an odder and does not stain. You can't go wrong using PECARD Leather Dressing.

As an active motorcyclist, I have more leather gear than should be allowed. All in, I'm extremely satisfied with this product and will continue to use it on all my leather goods.

Really excellent product. I've used Pecard for many years for treatment of vintage leather garments. The product is easy to apply, leaves no smell, and garments and equipment regain suppleness.

Very happy with this stuff. Other leather conditioners/dressings I have used in the past had strong chemical smells and I really like how natural and simple this stuff is. I will definitely be using this on any leather I have it is GREAT!

Exactly what I wanted for restoration

I bought this dressing to try restoring a cheaper genuine leather jacket that has a lot of sentimental value. I applied the dressing to half of the jacket and set it on a chair to dry. I took a photo on the third day of my experiment and attached it to this review. The progress is incredible and I am happy to have purchased this product. I have since applied it to an Italian military surplus full grain leather pistol holster from the 80s and it increased the sheen & look (as it did with the jacket), but more importantly the pliability of the dry leather holster. This stuff is awesome for my restoration needs.

Better than Mink Oil

This (Pecard 32oz Leather Dressing) is a great product to use on just about any finished leather item. I most often use it on my leather shoes to hide scuffs and wear and protect from the wet and winter salt. It darkens the leather a little but makes them look almost new when done! I use it every week and can not remember the last time I used polish. I use to have to buy a new pair of leather shoes for work every year; right after winter ended as the ice, snow, wear and salt of the season took its toll. Now I'm able to keep those shoes working! I stopped using mink oil as I discovered that mold is attracted to the natural product (when I found a pair of leather shoes stored away had green fuzz all over it!) I was a fan of mink oil for a decade or more; but after a few years of using this product I have thrown my mink oil away as this simply works better and does not run the risk of mold. PS: I have purchased a few of the vintage Pecard Tins online or when found in the vintage stores. I refill them from this super-sized container for that retro look and feel. See Images.

Still good as new

Still working on a 45 year old can given to me by my father who had an extra. Still good as new. You don’t need much and you don’t need to use it often. It is the best leather dressing I’ve ever used. It weatherproofs and waterproofs. Glad to see Pecard is still going strong.
